Did you say scale figure?



As you can tell, I was in the mood to draw some scale figures! I had so much fun drawing them I even drew some on a napkin in the EUC--my professor Suzanne would be so proud! The top drawings I drew during shelter bus presentations. I really like the sketchy technique because people are constantly in motion, it is really hard to draw them. I also think the sketchiness [is that a word?] makes the drawings have character.

Instead of using the word sketchiness, I think a better word to describe these drawings is gestural. If you've ever done gesture drawings, they are meant to be quick, loose studies of your subject. Obviously you can't get detailed in a short 20 or 30 second gesture drawing. The main point is to capture the essence of what you're drawing. I like these drawings because they possess these gestural qualities
